Backend Developer / Integration Manager (Laravel)

What you’ll do
You will play a dual role: developing backend features and leading integration projects that connect Heartpace with third-party systems and client platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
Core Backend development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Laravel.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch).
- Build event-driven systems using AWS services (SQS, SNS).
- Implement and maintain Dockerized services on AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFront, etc.).
- Follow clean code practices (SOLID, DRY, OOP, PSR standards), perform code reviews, and write unit/integration tests (TDD/BDD).
- Contribute to system scalability, performance, and security using best practices.
Integration project responsibilities
- Integration Management:Design and maintain integration solutions to connect Heartpace with external platforms. Ensure robust, secure, and scalable integration architecture, with fast issue resolution and ongoing optimization.
- Client Communication & Support:Serve as the technical point of contact for integration clients. Understand requirements, propose solutions, and provide ongoing support and updates.
- Collaboration with Product & Delivery (P&D) Team:Work closely with the P&D team to align integration solutions with product vision. Share client feedback and technical insights proactively.
- Documentation Ownership:Maintain integration documentation in Notion, including business cases, architecture diagrams, data models, flows, setup guides, and UI descriptions. Ensure documentation is updated with every process change.
- Architecture Development:Design integration architecture (including data modeling and DB schema). Monitor performance, ensure scalability, and apply rigorous security evaluations for third-party components.
- Feature Development & Security:Develop secure, well-tested, and efficient features in line with business timelines. Implement comprehensive monitoring and logging for data flows. Follow OWASP top 10 standards.
- Automation & DevOps Support:Enhance CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and maintain Terraform infrastructure templates. Support configuration management across environments.
- Code Quality & Collaboration:Collaborate with stakeholders to improve codebase health, enforce best practices, and increase test coverage. Participate in regular code reviews and contribute to core package improvements.
- Team Support & Development:Share knowledge within the backend team, support issue resolution (via Jira/Notion), and contribute to improving team workflows.
- Product Advocacy & Optimization:Champion improvements in system quality, performance, and scalability. Work with large datasets (average organizations: 2,000–6,000 employees) and optimize accordingly.
What we’re looking for
- Experience: 7+ years of backend development, with advanced knowledge of PHP and Laravel.
- Integration Expertise: Proven experience designing and implementing integration architectures and solutions.
