Database / Machine Learning Specialist
Location: Stockholm, Sweden (office/remote). Permanent location in the EU or Ukraine is required (we can only consider candidates legally based in the EU or Ukraine).
Join Söderberg & Partners Heartpace AB, a Swedish product company building reliable, high-quality software for the European market. We’re looking for a Database / Machine Learning Specialist who can turn data into product advantage — improving data architecture, performance, and building intelligent automation that scales.
This is not a “research-only” role. We need someone who can ship, measure, iterate, and build systems that make teams faster and products smarter — including using AI to automate workflows across the company.
What we offer
- Flexibility: work from our modern Stockholm office or fully remote.
- Data-driven culture: work with real-world data at scale and influence product decisions with measurable impact.
- Modern tech stack: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn), AWS (S3, RDS, SageMaker), Airflow, and more.
- Professional development: we support certifications, AI/ML conferences, and access to Udemy courses.
- AI-first enablement: we actively automate workflows with AI — and we’ll compensate relevant AI subscriptions you need for your work.
- Relocation support: visa sponsorship and relocation assistance for international candidates.
- Work-life balance: no overtime culture and generous vacation policies.
- Security matters: we are ISO 27001:2022 certified, meaning we take information security and operational discipline seriously.
What you’ll do
- Own and evolve our data foundation: design, manage, and optimize PostgreSQL and MongoDB for reliability and performance.
- Deliver in short cycles: ship → measure → iterate, balancing experimentation with production-grade execution.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes (Airflow or similar), ensuring data quality and observability.
- Develop and deploy ML models for forecasting, classification, recommendations, and automation use cases.
- Build practical ML infrastructure: training → evaluation → deployment → monitoring (including inference pipelines).
- Partner with Product and Engineering to integrate data-driven capabilities into live systems and workflows.
- Ensure data consistency, performance, and security across platforms and services.
- Use data and systems thinking to define metrics, identify bottlenecks, and drive improvements.
- Use AI tools to accelerate analysis, prototyping, documentation, and automation — while keeping quality and security intact.
We value
- High performance / results-first: measurable impact over activity.
- Entrepreneurial ownership: be the engine, not the passenger.
- Data-driven decisions + systems thinking: rigor, scalability, and continuous learning.
- Fast execution with integrity: speed and reliability.
- Continuous improvement: skills, mindset, and outcomes.
You’ll thrive here if you…
- Prefer short cycles: ship → measure → iterate.
- Can turn ambiguity into execution (and translate business questions into data solutions).
- Care about outcomes over process theater.
- Enjoy building scalable systems — not just one-off analyses.
What we’re looking for
- 7+ years in database engineering, data engineering, or machine learning roles (or a strong mix).
- Deep knowledge of SQL + NoSQL systems: indexing, normalization/denormalization trade-offs, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Practical ML experience: supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Strong Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and comfort working in notebooks (Jupyter).
- Experience with Docker, orchestration/workflow tools (Airflow), and Git.
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred): S3, RDS, SageMaker (or equivalent).
- Ability to communicate clearly and document decisions, pipelines, and models.
- English: Upper-Intermediate+ for collaboration and documentation.
- Language bonus:
- Swedish is a strong plus (conversational/professional level or native).
- Ukrainian/Russian is a plus for smoother communication with part of the team.
- AI usage experience: practical experience using AI tools to accelerate data/ML workflows (we’ll support and compensate relevant subscriptions).
Nice to have
- Deep learning experience (TensorFlow / PyTorch).
- Hands-on MLOps experience (e.g., SageMaker pipelines, model registry, monitoring).
- Interest in BI, KPI automation, experimentation frameworks, or predictive analytics for SaaS.
Interview process (3 steps)
- Screening interview with the Recruiter.
- Technical interview with the Tech Lead + live task.
- Final approval interview with the CTO.
Why join us?
At Söderberg & Partners Heartpace AB, data is a product lever — not a reporting function. You’ll have real ownership to shape our data platform and ML capabilities, ship automation that matters, and see your work impact thousands of users across Europe.

Technical Business Analyst
Location: Stockholm, Sweden (remote). Permanent location in the EU or Ukraine is required (we can only consider candidates legally based in the EU or Ukraine).
Join Söderberg & Partners Heartpace AB, a Swedish product company building reliable, high-quality software for the European market. We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst who can bridge business goals and engineering execution — turning ambiguity into clear, buildable specs and helping teams ship with speed and confidence.
This is not a “meeting-only” BA role. We need someone who can drive outcomes, work in short cycles (ship → measure → iterate), and help us automate analysis and documentation workflows using AI — while keeping quality, security, and clarity high.
What we offer
- Flexibility: work from our modern Stockholm office or fully remote.
- Tech-driven environment: partner closely with experienced engineers and product teams on complex platforms.
- Modern stack exposure: collaborate with teams using Laravel, React, AWS, Docker, GraphQL, and more.
- Professional development: we support certifications, tech/BA courses, and access to Udemy.
What you’ll do
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable deliverables: epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
- Turn ambiguity into execution by clarifying scope, edge cases, dependencies, and success metrics early.
- Work closely with developers and architects to analyze and model:
- data flows and domain logic
- APIs and integrations
- system behavior across services and clients
- Create structured documentation that engineers and QA can build/test against: sequence diagrams, data mappings, API contracts, and release notes when needed.
- Support sprint planning and delivery: backlog refinement, QA handovers, release readiness, and post-release learning.
- Use data-driven thinking to ensure we build the right thing, measure impact, and iterate.
- Use AI tools to speed up routine work (drafting specs, summarizing discussions, generating structured templates, validating edge cases) while keeping accuracy and security intact.
We value
- High performance / results-first: measurable impact over activity.
- Entrepreneurial ownership: be the engine, not the passenger.
- Data-driven decisions + systems thinking: rigor, scalable processes, continuous learning.
- Fast execution with integrity: speed and reliability.
- Continuous improvement: skills, mindset, and outcomes.
You’ll thrive here if you…
- Prefer short cycles: ship → measure → iterate.
- Can turn ambiguity into clear execution plans and build-ready documentation.
- Care about outcomes over process theater.
- Enjoy partnering with engineers and thinking in systems, not only requirements lists.
What we’re looking for
- 6+ years as a Business Analyst / Systems Analyst, ideally in a SaaS or product company.
- A strong technical foundation (previous experience as a developer, QA, systems analyst, or engineer).
- Solid understanding of modern web systems: client-server architecture, HTTP, JSON, REST/GraphQL, APIs, and databases.
- Tooling proficiency: Jira, Confluence, Swagger/Postman, and diagramming tools like Miro or Lucidchart.
- Strong SDLC understanding and experience working in Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban).
- Excellent stakeholder management: you can align product, engineering, and business with clarity and calm.
- English: Upper-Intermediate+ for collaboration and documentation.
- Language bonus:
- Swedish is a strong plus (conversational/professional level or native).
- Ukrainian/Russian is a plus for smoother communication with part of the team.
- AI usage experience: practical experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis and documentation workflows (we’ll support and compensate relevant subscriptions).
Nice to have
- Exposure to Laravel, React, or similar product stacks.
- Strong experience writing technical documentation for engineering and QA teams.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, AWS/cloud concepts, or containerized environments (Docker).
Interview process (3 steps)
- Screening interview with the Recruiter.
- Technical interview with the Tech Lead + live task.
- Final approval interview with the CTO.
